50 Years Inspiring Excellence
As The Hindu reports read “the creative output is put to the final test when the best bring home the bacon and the deafening applause and shrieks of the victorious, momentarily breaking away from the shackles of demanding clients, pierce the still of the night”.

The first ever ‘Advertising Art Exhibition South India’ Awards Nite was conducted and became a prestigious annual event of the Ad Club Madras in 1977, attracting entries from agencies from all over South India.

The change in the format of judging as well as the presentation of awards was introduced in 1994, soon to be followed by a change in the name of the awards, first to CAT(Chennai Advertising Triumph) and  later to SPARK in 2002.

Today, the awards cover over 40 categories and three awards (Gold, Silver and Bronze) are given in each category. In recent years the Best Copywriter of the year, Best Art Director of the year and the Agency of the year are also recognised and rewarded.
