We also provide a wonderful opportunity for the members to zealously participate in various sports competitions like Cricket, Bowling, Badminton, Table Tennis and more. Our events' aim is to provide an opportunity for the members to mingle with other unknown members so that it might help them to relax as well as create new business opportunities.

The Advertising Club Madras, is one of the oldest clubs in India with over 65 years of legacy. The club has been promoted by stalwarts of yesteryears, who were committed professionals and had the larger picture of providing a platform for practising advertising professionals to meet  and exchange ideas for the betterment of the industry.

In keeping with the current trends of the economy, Advertising industry has also evolved to meet the current challenges. The club organises regular Gyan Series, of speaker meet, where some of the top notch professionals from across the country share their experience and learnings for the benefit of our Club members. The Sports meet conducted by the club is a sought afterevent for members to showcase their talents. The PGDAM course in its 25th year is an industry recognised  certification course, which aims to equip the participants including working advertising professionals and students desirous of a career in Advertising with the latest in the industry.

Since 1977, Advertising Club Madras is recognising the industry work through its Maddys & Advertising Award.

A Remarkable Journey


20 creative minds came together on 18th February, 1956 over cups of tea; and they brewed the Ad Club Madras. The club has grown stronger over the decades, enriched by the members who continue to elevate excellence in advertising. Today, the club enjoys recognition by notable individuals and organizations across the country.

  • 1956

    The Ad Club of Madras is established

  • 1977

    The club conducts the first ever Advertising Art Exhibition South India Awards Nite. It becomes a prestigious annual event, with the participation of agencies from all over South India.

  • 1986

    The Ad Club adds an exciting new dimension, by introducing sports events. Intellectual games like chess, as well as fun-filled cricket & football competitions gain great popularity with members.

  • 1994

    The club launches the Post Graduate Diploma course in Advertising Management, a first of it’s kind by an Ad Club in India to deliver more skilled people to the advertising Industry.

  • 1995

    The Ad Club launches Deadline, a contest where participants create and present a campaign within 36 hours of receiving the brief. Deadline saw unimaginable propositions, highly innovative graphics and even legitimate surrogate advertising.

  • 1998

    The club organizes an International convention, Advertising Future Shock, echoing the evolving role of Advertising agencies with the changing times. Similar conventions are held in 2001 and 2006.

  • 2006

    The Ad Club celebrates its golden jubilee year. The club appoints its first woman President, Minitha Saxena. The club hosts the Living Legends Nite, to honour 6 advertising stalwarts – Alyque Padamsee, Christopher Rosario, Mohammed Khan, Piyush Pandey, Ravi Deshpande and Rajiv Menon.
